Family Picnic Day

Family Day was a heartwarming event where we invited low-income families from the Kim Seng area to spend quality time together through games and shared experiences. Many of the families we worked with seldom have the opportunity to engage in light-hearted, meaningful bonding due to financial or caregiving challenges.
• We created inclusive, low-pressure activities that encouraged parents and children to interact and enjoy time together.
• Volunteers were trained to be warm, attentive, and respectful in every interaction, ensuring that each family felt valued and welcomed.
• Seeing the joy and laughter throughout the day reminded me that dignity, joy, and connection are just as important as material support.

This project reinforced my belief that small gestures of kindness and community can make a lasting difference. In the future, I hope to bring deeper storytelling and intergenerational reflection into similar programmes.
